NDC vows to overturn unlawful election results.

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has taken a firm stance against the re-counted results in nine disputed constituencies following Ghana's recent elections. Dr. Tanko Rashid Computer, the NDC's Deputy Director of Elections and IT, made it clear that the party will not accept the outcomes of the re-collation process.

The rejection by the NDC comes in response to the New Patriotic Party (NPP) winning five out of the nine disputed constituencies, which include Obuasi East, Nsawam-Adoagyiri, Ahafo Ano North, Tema Central, and Okaikwei Central.

Dr. Computer emphasized that the NDC is prepared to challenge any results that are deemed unlawful and will hold electoral officers accountable for any discrepancies that may arise. The re-collation exercise was mandated by the Accra High Court, with the Electoral Commission (EC) overseeing the process under heightened security measures.

The constituencies in question are Nsawam-Adoagyiri in the Eastern Region, Ahafo Ano South West, Ahafo Ano North, and Obuasi East in the Ashanti Region, Dome-Kwabenya, Okaikwei Central, Ablekuma North, and Tema Central in the Greater Accra Region, as well as Techiman South in the Bono East Region.

The NDC's refusal to accept the re-collated results could potentially lead to further disputes and legal challenges in the aftermath of the elections. It is crucial for all parties involved to uphold the principles of fairness and transparency in order to ensure a peaceful and democratic electoral process.
