 University of Media, Arts and Communication (UniMAC) Appoints Prof. Eric Opoku Mensah as Acting Vice-Chancellor, Continuing Commitment to Academic Excellence and Leadership


The University of Media, Arts and Communication (UniMAC) is delighted to announce the appointment of Prof. Eric Opoku Mensah as the Acting Vice-Chancellor, effective February 8, 2024, following the retirement of the previous Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Kwamena Kwansah-Aidoo.


Prof. Opoku Mensah, with an extensive background in higher education management, previously served as the Deputy Rector and later as the Rector of the Institute of Journalism, a constituent institute of the University. His distinguished service and leadership, coupled with a commitment to academic excellence, research, and student welfare, align seamlessly with UniMAC's core values.

In his new role, Prof. Opoku Mensah will be responsible for guiding UniMAC in its pursuit of academic excellence, fostering collaboration among faculty, staff, and students, and advancing the university's mission to be a globally recognized center for excellence in training media, arts, and communication professionals.

Martha Ankomah Sues Lilwin Over Derogatory Remarks He Made About Her In Recent Viral Video

Popular Ghanaian actress, Martha Ankomah, has sued actor and musician, Kwadwo Nkansah aka Lilwin over the recent unsavory comments he made about her.



The CEO of Wezzy Empire in a recent viral video lashed out at Martha Ankomah because she allegedly looked down on the Kumawood film industry.


Lilwin in his live broadcast claimed that award-winning director, Frank Fiifi Gharbin told him that Martha supposedly said Kumawood produces no sensible movies and she would never work with Kumasi-based stars.


He added that Martha Ankomah supposedly said these words when Director Gharbin attempted to recruit her for a Kumawood production.



To show his displeasure, Lilwin furiously slammed Martha Ankomah in his live broadcast and described her supposed words as disrespectful.




The comments made by Lilwin appears to have hurt Martha Ankomah and she has decided to seek proper redress in court.

Sing-A-Thon: Afua Asantewaa pays Ghc 9,286 to Guinness World Records; Here’s why By Armani Brooklyn

Afua Asantewaa has confirmed paying $750 which is equivalent to Ghc 9,286 to Guinness World Record for priority review.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with Joy News, Afua Asantewaa disclosed that she and her team decided to pay for the priority review after waiting for some weeks and not receiving any official statement from Guinness World Record concerning her longest singing marathon attempt by an individual.


According to Afua, the fee for the priority review is $650 but there are other hidden additional charges – And because of this, she paid $750 in total.



 Citing from the official website of Guinness World Records, if an applicant chooses the Priority Application service, Guinness World Records will respond to him or her within 5 working days (as opposed to the usual 12 weeks).

Afua Asantewaa concluded her captivating Guinness World Record attempt for the singing marathon after an impressive 126 hours and 52 minutes on the 29th of December 2023.


Addressing her supporters after receiving medical attention behind a screen onstage, Asantewaa revealed that she had lost track of time during the five-day endeavour.


Expressing her hope that this achievement would inspire women and youth across the country, Asantewaa conveyed gratitude for the support received from musicians, politicians, and security officials at the Akwaaba Village in Accra.
