The police made the discovery after neighbours reported a strong stench emanating from the woman’s residence, where she lived with her Burkinabe boyfriend. Her 43-year-old boyfriend has since been arrested on suspicion of murder. “He is also under investigation for secretly burying the two at the bushy area of the compound of their residence,” the police posted on Facebook. According to the police, the neighbours had indicated that the three had been living together since January 2020, until the sudden disappearance of the two. A strong stench from the neighbourhood and obvious absence of the woman and her daughter prompted neighbours to lodge a complaint with the Police at Kokrobite leading to the discovery of the bodies of the deceased. The identity of the suspect and deceased persons have not been revealed. The police have however applied for an exhumation order from the court for autopsy.
